Whether you’re a current parent wanting to know details about how we do things, a new parent thinking about working with us or if you are just curious about how everything ticks over behind the scenes at BA Tuition, this blog post is for you.
We’ve pulled together these FAQs from recent conversations, emails, WhatsApp chats and even the tutoring sessions themselves. We’ve grouped them into sections below for ease; because if you’ve thought it, someone else definitely has too! Much of the finer details can be found in our Tutor-Client Contract, but we hope to have answered many of the practical questions about how we work below...
π‘ The Essentials: How, Where and What?
Where do our tuition sessions take place?
All in-person sessions take place in one of our two resourced home learning spaces. They’re comfortable, distraction-free and set-up for focused study.
If you're online, great news: we use the the extremely easy to navigate Lesson Space platform that offers an interactive and streamlined learning experience.
What subjects do you currently offer?

Who will be my English, Maths or Science tutor?
You’ll be matched with either Bradley, Jemma or Ana for the academic year when it comes to your English tuition. That consistency is key, but we’re flexible enough to step in and cover for one another when needed. Roni will be your Maths tutor and Thomas will be your Science tutor.
During the school holidays, we run extended workshops where you can work with our tutors for 90min sessions and try out a different subject too where space allows.
What are your qualifications and experience?
Bradley and Jemma are both qualified senior teachers with English and leadership experience in secondary schools. We’ve spent years working directly with exam boards and have taught thousands of students between us. We know how to get results and will only work with other tutors who share our same passion and educational values and who deliver the very best for their students.
You can read our respective journeys through education and find out about Ana's, Roni's and Thomas' educational background too by clicking HERE.
π‘ Homework, Feedback and Support Between Sessions
Do you provide parental feedback?
Yes! A short verbal debrief at the end of each session is our norm, with written feedback summaries provided on request. We also help guide you with questions to ask your child's English/Maths/Science teachers where necessary, bridging the gap between tuition and classroom learning.
Can you help with school homework?
Definitely. We can support with school-set tasks and teach how to break them down and manage them independently within a tuition session. Please just let us know of the task that your child would like support with in advance.
Do you help with revision planning?
Absolutely. We’re big believers in well-paced, evidence-based revision. We’ll build practical plans that can be easily stuck to.
Do you offer webinars and additional group sessions if requested?
Yes. We host webinars and run school holiday small-group sessions too (as well as the usual weekly group sessions that we run). These offer great value and high impact. You can see what we are currently offering HERE.
